Food Pantry

Due the growth of The Town of New Windsor Food Pantry it has been decided that the operation of the food pantry will be turned over to the Encounter Church. Encounter Church looks to grow the food pantry and will be able to help a greater number of people than we were out of the Recreatioin Department being our limited space.  If you or someone you know needs assistance and would like to sign up for the food pantry, or you would like to make a donation to the food pantry, please contact Encounter at 845-497-0142 or at 647 Station Road, Rock Tavern, NY 12575.  

AARP Smart Drivers Course

When you take the AARP Smart Driver™ in person course, you could be eligible for a multi-year discount on your auto insurance.* Plus safer driving can save you more than just money. The course teaches proven driving techniques to help keep you and your loved ones safe on the road. The Town of New Windsor is pleased to host this course monthy at our Marasco Senior Center which is located at New Windsor Town Hall Complex 555 Union Avenue, New Windsor, NY 12553. To register for the class you may do so in person at the Town of New Windsor Recreation Department at 244 Union Avenue in New Windsor. The price for the course is $25 for AARP Members and $30 for non-members. The course is open to all of driving age. The upcoming courses schedule are : 

Saturday June 29th, 2024  8:30am to 3:30pm in the Marasco Senior Center. 

Saturday August 24th, 2024  8:30am to 3:30pm in the Marasco Senior Center

When registering you must pay by check or money order made out to "AARP." If you have any questions or need more information please call the Recreation Deparement at 845-565-7750. 

New Windsor Garden Club

Seeking novice to experienced gardeners to join our Garden Club created for residents of New Windsor, Newburgh, Cornwall and surrounding towns.  Membership is free.

What We Do:
- Fun and educational meetings held January - October (outdoors April - Oct)
- Tutorials on garden topics such as winter sowing, seed starting, plant propagation, extending your harvest, composting, container planting, square foot gardening and more...
- Seed trading, plant swaps and plant sharing
- Group outings to local garden events
- Discounts at local garden centers
- Community (volunteer) garden projects

Knitting and Crocheting Club

Come join the Knitting and Crocheting Club meeting every first and third Friday's of the month. Beginners, intermediates, and experts, all are welcome.

Are you a Caregiver to a child or adult with special needs? You are not alone. Come together and support one another in a safe caring place.
